Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. You have trouble focusing when it gets angry.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling hates company. She lives near an isolated outcropping of mana and disorients anyone who nears it, even if she did not mean to use her powers that way.

A cave where bats roost is nearby her. When in a darker mood than usual, she will levitate inside it and torment the bats. They try to fly away, but get disoriented and fly into the cave stalactites instead.
