Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ryzen's finely boned frame is covered with a ghostly layer of intricate stripes a few shades brighter than the surrounding scales. The broad, prominent plates of his underbelly are the vivid canvas of vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows indicative of his breed, they are enhanced by the patteerning of his mother's kind. He is most often found near Varkrish's storm, as the clouds make the sunset truly spectacular. Ryzen mostly keeps himself to himself, with the exception of his sister, Wylka, and his rash friend, Vr'Skriis. But, even with these two he rarely says more than a dozen words in as many minutes. This quietness is in no way a mark of shyness or timidness, but of a fierce proclivity for thought over action, and action over word.
