When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Lochum is a strong, handsome male of his species, and unfortunately he knows it. Sadly, he can be a little selfish because of his high opinion of himself.
Serrelind has aggressively driven him away from her pond and will not allow him to enter it again, after he binged and wiped out an entire colony of delectable little fishes she had been cultivating for months as a food supply.
To counter his loneliness, Lochum has developed an unusual talent for a dragon—a hauntingly beautiful singing voice. His deep sonorous tones echo across the waters in the evening and make everyone in earshot pause to listen.
His secret (which he would NEVER divulge to the others) was a trip to the ocean, where he spent time in the company of whales, learning how to sing their deep, slow, sad songs. Their plight stirred something within him, and now his greatest joy in life—aside from his own reflection—is letting those who dwell above the waters hear the songs of those who dwell below.
