Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

SwishFlight is a Whiptail dragon, and even for his species, extremely fast and energetic. When his egg was caught his family spent sleepless nights watching it rattling and shaking, convinced that it was either going to explode or hatch into some kind of mechanical monster. When it finally hatched, everyone was relieved to find that it was a hatchling. A very energetic and lively hatchling who sprang out of his eggshell and vanished into the mazelike caves before anyone could do anything sensible. The dragons immediately gave chase, while Camreth the Earth and VenomRoot and his son Venonnyte the Vines covered all the exits with greenery. SwishFlight was found a few hours later and was put to train with the warrior dragons to work off his excess energy. As an adult, the Whiptail continues with this and the dust clouds he leaves behind are often seen as he runs around, perpetually busy.
