Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

From the beginning of time, various tales have been told amongst dragons. Some tell of ancient powers, of heroic deeds, of true love. Most dragons do not believe in any of those—tales, however beautifully told, they say, are still tales, and therefore wishful thinking. Yet, like an old proverb says, there is always a grain of truth.

One of the stories that has even been passed on between different kinds of beings is the love story of Juliette, a fair dragon lady of noble descent. She fell in love with the heir of a rivaling dragon clan at first sight and, carrying the same feelings for her in his heart, he returned her love. But alas, one day they found out about each others' dreadful origin, and finally, chose to leave. Whereto, is not said, some say netherworld, some call it paradise, yet, perhaps, only perhaps, Juliette and her lover are still alive. And since there is only a grain of truth in the end, oddly enough, her lover's name is Tristan.
