Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Black Nyght was a hatchling he was always being teased by all the other black dragons because he looked different. His Mother left his father, him, and his siblings when he was still in the shell so he never got to see her, but he has scales from her so he still knows that she was beautiful and he knows her smell. His Father was a regular black so he didn't help much with the teasing. Black Nyght learned to ignore the taunts and just go on with his day. Now since he learned that he knows what it feels like and helps other 'different' dragons because he knows what they're going through. His mate, Deep Shadows, a regular black, partly picked him just because he was 'different' and she didn't care about it.
