This breed of dragon was thought to exist only in legend. Although their name varies between cultures, they are often referred to as “Guardians of Nature.” They are able to channel the forces of fire, ice and lightning, which allows them to wield tremendous power. Seen very rarely, it is thought that they only become active when something is threatening the territory they have chosen to guard. In order to protect their chosen home, these dragons are incredibly adaptable; they have been seen everywhere from remote mountain ranges, to ancient forests, to the darkest depths of the ocean.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Soberano has changed the way of life for his clan since he first arrived. Being the first Guardian of Nature dragon in the clan, he made sure that when catastrophic dangers threatened his clan, he could stop it with his god-like powers, making sure that peace and prosperity would always remain for his clan. He has gained a lot of admiration, affection and popularity from his clan because of this; they even nicknamed him their savior. Not much is known about the heroic Soberano as he only appears when there is trouble, quickly disappearing when the conflict is ceased. Soberano doesn't know how to handle his celebrity status, going as far as avoiding socializing with his clan, despite his protective and attached nature towards them. He views all the legendary ice, magma and lightning dragons as his superiors because they summoned him. He gives only the ice dragon Toeba Frostflame a higher status (actually calling her Mother) because she was the first to initiate the ritual to summon him.
