Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a somber color, but is surprisingly playful.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Rem Palude has a fairly unfortunate name; although it sounds nice enough, it truly means "Swamp Thing", which is exactly the type of cruel title that other eternal-hatchlings sometimes give. It truly doesn't fit his cheerful and playful demeanor, and because of this, he much prefers to be called "Remy". Perhaps strangely, he often acts as a spy for the other hatchlings, who are a law onto themselves, and desperate to gain infromation on the adult dragons. He takes his position as something of a game; he loves nothing more than seeing how long he can go unnoticed in shadows of trees.
