Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Right under the Sweetling who lives in the forest searching for Sasquatch and the Cheese carpenter, Raiorn is possibly the strangest dragon in the cave. Despite ranking 3rd to 1st every year in the clan's 'Hottest Dragon Alive' contest he is constantly having trouble finding a mate for the holidays. Not that he doesn't have a fan club of willing would-be mothers, it's the fact that he has a softer smile for the single males. Every year until the last minute he exerts all his energy on the guys until his instinct to pass on his genes (and the hundreds of dragon tamers without a Yulebuck egg) kicks him in the backside and his closest friend has to bail him out and be his mate for the year. Ironic because Timuki Bruynzeel doesn't exactly bat for that team either.
