Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dash Hedgrou is a bright, goofy dragon who loves to run. He has traveled the world, though home is his favorite place to be. Dash loves his wife, Isabella Hart, and his new egg more than anything else. His best friend is the emo Shade Ark, who always calls him "kiddo" because of his behavior. Dash is laid back about it, never worrying about a word that is said. He hates his uncle, James Hedgrou, for impregnating Isabella before he was born and not staying with her. He and his daughter, Alexis McKinley, are not very close. She shed his last name as soon as she was old enough, which hurt her poor father. He supports her whenever he can.
