Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Never Beginning is the only female Water Horse in the cave. She is fiercely independent and hates to have to rely upon anyone for anything. She does everything for herself and refuses help from anyone. Her fierce independence carries into other aspects of her life. She refuses to consider taking a mate because she believes that is becoming too dependent on one other individual. Little does she know, one of her friends named Youthful Radiance loves her but wont admit his feelings because of her disdain for mates. On the other hand, there is the egotistical Frothy Surf who vies for her shamelessly. He wont stop annoying her constantly about being his mate. His annoying persistence is part of the reason she hates the idea of taking a mate so deeply. Whenever anyone brings up the topic of mates, Never Beginning goes on a rampage that can last for hours. She will argue about how bad they are.
