Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rishkuzl is known as the guardian of hatchlings and unhatched eggs, though being enraged he sometimes scares them. The older hatchlings enjoy his testing temper by flying away from him once their wings have grown. He has no love for the undead dragons on other breeding grounds nor the vampires that haunt his. Always angry and always frightening, he hopes to keep the blade of his scroll-bearer and the vampires' teeth away from the innocent dragonlings.

Luckily, he is only active in the winter, being one of the elusive "Spirits of Winter" and is often groggy in the fall after his long rest. Rishkuzl often misses the nasty shenanigans that happen around the breeding ground during spooky the month of October, though the many tombstones that show up across Galsreim has him more than suspicious. If only he could stay awake....
