Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Threatening Gale is a shy dragon that has a tendency to keep to himself. He sits in the back of the cave watching everyone go about their daily duties. Sometimes he will leave his accustomed spot to go on a hunt or to help around the cave, but these times are rare and far between. The shell he surrounds himself with is unbreakable. He does not speak when spoken to and not even the most insulting comments can make him blink an eye in response. His shyness has reached the point where he is almost completely unresponsive to the other dragons. The one exception is when he goes into a fit of prophesying. He has the magical ability to see into the future at unpredictable moments. As he does, he will speak his prophesy out loud to anyone to anyone who happens to be nearby. His voice is husky and whisper silent from lack of use but somehow it demands attention. His prophecies have a tendency to be unimportant and irrelevant.
