Canopy Dragons love to soar above the tropical jungles and other densely forested areas. Their billowing, layered wings create generous lift that allows them to ascend effortlessly over the warm jungle. While their unique wings do not make them the fastest flyers, they are champion gliders. To further this end, dexterity, maneuverability, and grace are all judged by the females when selecting their mates from the males that can accurately complete the exhausting and elaborate courtship dance between the close growing branches of the upper canopy.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

BraveGrove is a courageous Canopy Dragon. She is one of the guards for her cave, one of the few non-Guardians on the force. BraveGrove has always been very brave: as a young hatchling she went out into the jungle by herself and got hopelessly lost. She didn't panic, she just spent the night in a dry cave and started out again in the morning. She hadn't grown her wings in yet, and she had very little sense of direction. She was tricked into venturing into the grove of wild Vine Dragon, but she just ran away and escaped. Finally it was raining, BraveGrove felt very tired, and found a fallen tree to shelter under for the night. That night her wings grew in. She was one of the few lucky hatchlings that could use her wings right away, but she had to. BraveGrove ran into a hungry group of black bears, and had to climb a tree in an attempt to escape, but they just climbed up after her. So BraveGrove went on her first flightglide to get away.
