Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Possessing something of a sugar addiction, this female has given up all hope of appearing ethereal and mystical in favor of rushing willy-nilly through candy shops, shrieking in delight all the while. More than one confection-maker has come to recognize (and dread) her high-pitched candy-hunting cry, the female's sun-reflecting scales making her near impossible to spot until it's too late, the enthusiastic creature using sheer bulk to crash her way through windows and doors to get at cinnamon balls and sugar canes and candied chestnuts. While this sounds like quite the nightmare for the shop owners, it's not all bad; the stores she pilfers seem to gain an almost magical air, as if some of her enchantment rubbed off on them, and sales almost invariably increase several times over after a raid.
