Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fyxilora joined Cahib's ill-advised sinomorph quest because she felt someone had to be the voice of reason. Cahib, she realized immediately, had an ego the size of a plated colossus and no common sense whatsoever, while Xintok spent his days with his head in the clouds thinking up useless inventions. Someone had to keep the pair of them from being eaten by feral ochredrakes, so that someone might as well be her. As the group increases, Fyxilora keeps claiming that she'll leave everyone to fight their own battles if they don't see reason, but never gets around to doing so. Even after two red dragons took over guarding and hunting, she finds excuses to stay, claiming that professional pride wouldn't allow her to leave such hulking and graceless beasts in charge of keeping Cahib's group safe and fed.
