It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lilianara was the first female brought into Eleria's clutch, and is quite content to let the males in the group fight to impress her and wait on her needs. She loves the crisp, cool air of daybreak, and hates to be confined; her favorite living space is very close the pond near her master's house, where everything is green and beautiful. She is often found reclining on a bed of grass and flowers, her colorful scales shining in the morning sun, in a place where the repeated application of her mass to the ground has left an indent of considerable size. Lilianara once attempted to breed with Faregrae, but the egg died before hatching. This failure has lead them to fear trying again, although they are a stable couple and still enjoy each other's presence.
