Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Daughter of a Skywing (Spartan Carter) and a Nebula (Silver Loron), 'Kat' has always joked that she likes flying best at night, and used to claim she 'glows in the dark'. These claims, of course, were fully untrue, as she is simply a Skywing no matter what her mother was. Perhaps she acts this way because she wishes she was a Nebula: that is what her owner wanted when her parents bred. Being a people-pleaser, Kat isn't really happy with herself sometimes, but she covers it well. When Kat's not joking about her lineage, she's spending time flying over the waters where her mate-for-life, Emile JR Perchello (Deep Sea Dragon) swims. He seems to be the only one she is truly happy with: he never judges her in any way.
