Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For most of her life, this dragoness lived isolated on an island. When she was young, she, though peaceful, supported her warrior father's cause during a war, but at the war's end, her father's side lost. As punishment, the victors imprisoned her on the island and cursed her to be alone, though sometimes a heroic dragon would end up on her shores after some accident. She would nurse him back to health and ask him to stay, but each time the other dragon couldn't remain. She tried not to become too bitter, contenting herself with singing, gardening and weaving. One dragon, a Tsunami, promised to help, but ultimately didn't follow through. A few years later, she could've sworn the gods were laughing at her when an awkward, scrawny Hellfire (definitely NOT her type) crash landed on her beach. Despite initial animosity, the pair did become close, and this time when they parted and he promised to return for her, he really did. The two now travel the world, going wherever their hearts desire.
