Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Like the egg it hatched from, it is a very shiny gold.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

McGlittery is a vain little dragon. She's under the delusion that the other dragons should give her preferential treatment just because she is a gold dragon. This doesn't go over well, of course, and so she has become a target for many pranks and practical jokes from the other hatchlings. She takes it all quite well, considering, and simply turns her snobby little nose up when any of the others walk by. Secretly she wishes they would include her in their games more, but she would never admit that to any of them.
