Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dethjeira is an excellent hunter that lives in one of the northern regions. She will remain completely motionless on the ground and allow snow to partially cover her. She will them wait for prey to come by and then will jump out in ambush. It doesn't matter to her if she has to wait hours, since she has a great deal of patience. If the day is clear and it isn't snowing, then she will try some aerial hunting. She will drop down from the sky and startle her prey, and then glide overhead and give chase. Dethjeira will allow her prey to exhaust themselves running, and then she will swoop in for the kill. Dethjeira is a solitary dragon for the most part, but she will allow the occasional male to woo her if they can prove they have hunting skills as good as her own.
