And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The first child of Shimmering and Wolf-Rayet, Teeny is very loved. Descended from a prestigous line of rare dragons, he is haughty, rarely playing with other hatchlings except those of dragons as rare as he. Even then, his attitude and snottiness often results in him being shunned by the less-aloof hatchlings. Though at times ostracized, his joy of being eternally young tends to erase any sadness he feels. He can often be found frolicking alone, exploring the world around his home cave and dreaming of adventure, but too timid to venture far.
