Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Voices, hissing in the back of his mind

Full of spite and hatred

No matter how hard he tries.

"Stupid, silly, ugly Fenpavo"

"Look at how my scales shine!"

A desperate cry

"Ugly Fenpavo"

The voices always fight back.

"They gleam like gemstones"

"Ugly, ugly"

Their chant echoes in his mind.

"They are the finest silver mirrors!"

But he doesn't believe it.

"He's so ugly"

They are like teeth tearing at his mind.

"Without a scratch"

They never listen to him,

"Stupid Fenpavo"

Constantly berating him,

"I am not ugly!"

Making him believe their lies.

"He's so-"

They never, ever stop

"I am not stupid!"

No matter what he says.

"Hahaha!"

Laughing at his vain attempts to quiet their sneers.

"Why won't you stop!"

Because they exist to break him down,

"Hahahaha!"

Laughing at his crumbling mind.

"I am beautiful!"

It has less truth each time he says it.

"Haha--"

Always laughing.

"I SAID STOP IT."

Others look upon poor Fenpavo

Arguing with himself.

Losing his mind,

Losing himself.
