Crimson Flare Pygmies are named after their small size and speed. They are fast and love to fly up and down in steep climbs and dives, giving the impression of a flare of color in the sky. These dragons travel in swarms during migration seasons and are very social. They live in tropical locations or wherever it is warm, and they are often seen near active volcanoes.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.
User Description
Even as a hatchling, Torlik was a shy dragon, only venturing out of the cave he was raised in when accompanied by his guardian, the human girl named Flight, or his best friend, the Nilia Pygmy named Apatite of the Gems. Raised within the Mountains of Elgar, Torlik was never seen far from Flight or Apatite. It was often common for the other dragons of the mountains, all raised either by Flight or her friend, Ember Nuria, to remark on how much Torlik and Apatite are different, yet get along so well. When Apatite gets into one of his curious adventures, Torlik is always besides him, despite his hesitant nature. On one occasion, while accompanying Flight to the tallest Mountain of Elgar to visit her friend, Ember Nuria, Apatite tried to reach for a blue blossom on the edge of a cliff. A strong wind ended up causing Apatite to loose his balance. If it wasn't for Torlik being there to catch his brother, Apatite would have fallen, and since then the two are almost always together.
