Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

While most have a hard time figuring out how to say this dragon's name, Siyr was given this name because it means "cheese" in the Russian language. The proper pronunciation is similar to "sir". Although we have no clue of it's gender, it acts quite like a male dragon. Siyr joined the herd unwittingly and didn't know how close to death heshe was upon arrival. Every day the gathering group of dragons goes out and gets food for everyone as their duty in the herd. They had found what they thought was a large round chunk of cheese. When the chunk was presented at meal time it started to move! That's when everyone realized this was actually a cheese egg. Aurora Boreas quickly removed the egg from the feasting table and added it to her nest. She cared for it until it hatched and thank goodness she did or we wouldn't have the silly, adorable Siyr the Cheese Dragon that we have today.
