Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Angelus the vampire seemed to be a normal vampire. That's mostly because he was. However, he bit a magi dragon's beloved egg one night...

From that point on he was cursed to live the way he had before. He was given back his soul. After having bitten and killed hundreds of the eggs he found, he felt the terrible weight of his actions.

Strangely, when he tried asking some of the dragons he lived near to kill him, they refused to do it. Again and again he tried, wanting only to end his miserable existence. Finally he gave up on the thought of getting killed by anyone, and began devoting his time to rescuing eggs from the other vampires in his old clan, much to their dismay.

Since the return of his soul, he's not often out and about, even at night, except to protect eggs. He hardly speaks to others, and more often than not, he'll simply be lurking in shadows, content to simply watch the goings-on of his world in silence.
