Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. A helpless romantic, this dragon has courted many a female in his search for love, and most of those attempts have gone exceptionally wrong. His first sweetheart was a marrow (he heard they made very dedicated mates), but somewhere between her trying to crack his skull open and drown him in a swamp he realized it wasn't meant to be. Next he courted a fair Lumina dragon, but she spent most of their dates picking off his "ugly" scales instead of talking with him and gradually that relationship faded as well. The third and final straw came when he hit on a hellhorse; what happened after that was too horrible a tale for even a scroll to hold. Thus daunted and defeated, poor Spur has largely given up on real love and chosen to stick with romance novels instead.
