Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Howlitythia VixenGift (after the gemstone: Howlite) is the 66th clan dragon, born of a neighbor whose clan mother graciously offered her egg as a gift to strengthen and diversify the Mystal Clan dragons. As an eggling, Howlitythia was well cared for and watched over with tenderness and kind consideration. The Clan Mother sought the council of the clan elders upon the offer, and together, all agreed this arrangement would make a truly magnificent impact on the clan. Within moments of her adoption, the entire clan cave seemed quieter, as she darted from one alcove to the next, scooping up the tiny insects and other creepy crawlies that had, up until then, claimed residence among the clan dragons. Howlitythia is boisterous and good humored, and thrills the younglings with her quick wit and everlasting search for her next scrumptious morsel. From time to time, she and The Clan Mother journey together to visit their benefactor, a warm thank you forever present in their wake!
