Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Orifiel was named for her ferocious protective nature. She is a young and graceful dragon. She has never shown arrogance or ignorance and displays kindness towards the hatchlings of the clan. Her beauty and flawless hunting skills have caught the eyes of many of the male dragons of the clan but she doesn't give them any notice. However her interest has been captured by a few wild dragons as she finds them fascinating. One equine dragon in particular has caught her focus but she dares not approach him in fear that Tanglehorn, Redhorn or Varekai will chase him away or injure him. His name is Darkfire and she managed to convince Firefleet to let him stay. Redhorn in particular has tried and failed on many occasions to impress her but Orifiel refuses to give him any attention. Once Redhorn discovered that Darkfire was staying in the clan he was furious and violently attacked him. Orifiel tried to intervene but Darkfire dealt with Redhorn swiftly before it became to dangerous
