Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

Res thinks that every new year should begin with every dragon and human coming up with some ideas of things they want to do during that year. It can be something simple like not eating all the butterflies at one sitting (for a stripe) or more complicated like promoting world peace (for anyone). To be really effective, Res insists that these be written down for everyone to see. For Res, though, this is easier said than done. Res is dyslexic and has never been able to spell or count well.

This year, Res asked Bard to help him with his resolutions and wrote them out himself. Now, proudly displayed outside Res's cave is this list:

Res can't figure out why nearly everyone smiles or laughs as they pass his cave, but at least he knows he's bringing happiness with his resolutions, even if he still can't count past one.
