Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shifting Storms is a male Gray dragon, hatched and raised in Acinacem Clan. While he watched as the Gray dragons always left, he grew to be fond of Storms of Change, the only Gray dragon to stay at the cave. She soon grew fond of him as well, and together, they had their first child, Changer's Storm. However, not long after Changer was laid, Storms of Change expressed to her mate that she didn't want their child to grow up in the clan. She said that she'd heard of the Hostile-Wrath Alliance, a powerful group of Gray dragons that would provide the freedom she regretted never taking. She begged him to take Changer's Storm there, and for his own good, stay there. While Shifting Storms took the egg and left it in the Alliance's care, he could not bring himself to leave his mate alone in the clan. He returned to the clan but kept tabs on their daughter in the alliance.
