And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Rasput is forever stuck as a hatchling. Forever stuck in the childish and carefree ways of the young ones. But he always feels bad whenever someone refers to him as a hatchling. So the group of pygmy dragons that resides in the clan decided to spread the word to call Rasput a pygmy instead of a hatchling. So in a way, they adopted him into their little group. They treat him like one of their own, but Rasput is still very shy and nervous, feeling out of place still among the pygmies. He works to collect the berries and other small objects.
