Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

DarkNightFire is a very determined Gray Dragon hatchling. He is an artist, a dreamer, a lover, a poet. He's so full of himself that most other dragons tend to avoid him. He spends most of his time composing poems or romantically pining over his "one true love" the White Dragon IntrepidFeather. He had spent a long time brooding out in the rain, and caught horrible pneumonia. She was the Healer who saved his life, and he decided she was the most beautiful thing in the world. She tries to humor DarkNightFire, but only so far. Even though his drama is very annoying and he doesn't have many friends, all of the dragons of his cave love when he mentally shares his amazing poems. His Love Poems are recited all over the continent. Every one knows at least one of his poems, even if it sometimes is a dirty limerick.
