Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Magic, Mage for short, is the mate of Saferi and is one of the dragons who favors the separation of the pride when the habitat requirements become too diverse to please everyone. Mage is already a loner and except for Saferi and any Magi hatchlings, he does not socialize much with the other dragons. The major exception to this is Nikola, who he believes will be a good leader of those who choose to follow him, though it is also obvious that Mage has half a mind to leave the pack, with or without Saferi, and strike out on his own to make a group made up entirely of Magi dragons.

Mage keeps to himself in a secluded corner of the pack's territory and often hunts alone.
