Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Wisp was the first of his line to migrate across the sea to the mainland, where he met his mate, Conjurer. To her surprise, he was able to match her word for word, double meanings and verbal trickery being an integral part of the politics of his dynasty; once they began to talk, they found they were interested in each others' magical styles, the two being so different. One thing led to another, and before either of them was really aware of it, there was an egg. Wisp's family was scandalized; he had been expected to take a mate from one of the eligible females at his home, but after meeting Conjurer they agreed that she was an acceptable—though not ideal—partner, and allowed the pair to live happily.
