Electric Dragons wield electricity with great prowess. Bright sparks race across these dragons’ bodies in a dazzling dance of light, complemented by the blindingly radiant sparks on their tails. Using their bellies and manes as stores for this electrical energy, Electric Dragons wield crackling magic, stunning and electrocuting their prey with a whip of their tail. During mating season it is typically those with the most brilliant sparks—an indicator of strength and hunting ability—that are drawn to each other.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lytira knows nothing of her heritage or history, and this bothers her. Many of the dragons of the adoptive cave speak of far away sires and dams or have family right there. Neither Niccolai nor Edison are warm enough for her to gravitate toward as true adoptive family, both quite a bit older than she. She has always had to take care not to shock the other hatchlings that were closer to her age. So as an adult, she holds herself a little aloof and ranges far in search of any shred of information about her true origins.
