Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Quicksilvyr likes to be helpful, but does not like attention. She wants to do useful things but does not want any recognition or reward for it. If she notices a task needs doing, she will slip in and take care of it, and try to slip out again unnoticed. Unfortunately for her, the glow of her scales generally gives her away. Embarrassed to be caught in the act, she will not return to help again if she thinks someone noticed her in the act of helping, or if any kind of reward is set out for her.
