Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For some reason, Mountain Believer is often shunned by a single dragon. He doesn't know why. All he knows is that there's this one dragon who doesn't believe in the existence of mountains, and because of Mountain Believer's name as Mountain Believer, he will be told that mountains don't exist constantly, over and over, by that one dragon.

Most other dragons think that the dragon that shuns him, Mountain Unbeliever, is slightly crazy. Mountain Believer thinks that Mountain Unbeliever is crazy. Of course he would. Nobody doesn't believe in mountains. But Mountain Unbeliever says that he has performed scientific tests on mountains, and they simply do not exist.

Other than his constant rivalry with Mountain Unbeliever, Mountain Believer is a very kind dragon who, as his name implies, lives on mountains and believes in mountain spirits that protect him and his clan. He sacrifices food to these mountain spirits.

To be honest, most dragons think that Mountain Believer is a bit crazy himself.
