Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Foggish Air is a member of the gang-like group of dragons called the Volcans, who reside in the Sanctuary. She is also the mate of the leader of the group, Volcanis Drak. Being the mate of the Volcan group's leader, Foggish Air holds as much power and status as Volcanis Drak himself, and thus is also one of the most vicious, yet highly regarded dragons in the group and equally the most feared dragon in the Sanctuary. Air has even earned the nickname the 'Vampire Queen' and the 'Empress of the Night'. Foggish Air is stunningly beautiful, quick-witted, sharp as a fox, and dangerous, seducing and baiting dragons to trust her before stabbing them in the back. Strong and authoritative, her word is rarely questioned by anyone in the group.

Foggish Air despises vampire dragons that are not as cruel as most, dubbing them 'fake vampires' and saying they don't know how to use their fangs. As so, she hates the vampire dragon Vanilla Fang, and would kill her if she could.
