It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Allain is a very calm dragon. She's rarely ruffled or scared by anything, and will look most dragons that are considered to be 'dangerous' in the eye and tell them to stop what they're doing now. This isn't because her mate, Dark, is a powerful fighter that'll hurt the dragons who try to hurt her; she was like that long before she met him. Ever since she hatched, Allain's been apparently fearless, and is willing to approach the dragons that everyone else is scared of. Some dragons fear that this will get her killed someday, but Allain isn't scared of death. The only thing she'd feel bad about if she knew she was going to die would be the fact that Dark and her children would be sad for a long time.
