Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Extraterrestrial Objects Index knows that her name is a mouthful so she's told everyone she knows that she'd prefer to be called Eodex. "It's in my code," she says, which makes sense to no one, but since Eodex is so much easier to say no one really minds. Eodex spends her nights watching the skies, and many of her days tracking down the objects that have fallen from it. She has a long scroll on which she has listed everything she's found, and a second scroll for the things she's found but hasn't been able to add to her hoard. Of course, these scrolls make up her Extraterrestrial Objects Index and are Eodex's pride and joy, along with the objects themselves. Eodex hopes one day to meet a real live alien or even one of the space chickens she's heard so many stories about.
