Rosebud Dragons are a fun and social breed found most often in the spring. The petal-like feathers that grow on their sides spread their sweet and floral scent. Although they have poor eyesight, they have ribbon-like extensions that extend their olfactory abilities to help create a map of the area around them. When flying, Rosebud dragons tend to hover, using their wings to fan their scent throughout the air. A widespread breed, they go to great effort to visit as many flowery fields as possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A huge jokester, Yumiah can never get enough of jokes and puns, though other dragons in the lair sure can. Not a day goes by where Yumiah doesn't crack some sort of joke or pun, and while for the most part she does try to keep her humor new and fresh, she is quite fond of shoving the flowers on her shoulders into others' faces and telling them to "wake up and smell the roses". Many of the more solitary or older dragons in the lair find Yumiah to be extremely annoying, often noting that she seemingly has no filter and doesn't understand when a joke is not appropriate. However, hatchlings usually love her, and her best friend Florali is always encouraging her to make more, sometimes even getting in on the fun himself as Yumiah's "apprentice joker". The two are constantly invited to parties for comedic entertainment, and nobody leaves those gatherings without first dying on the floor from laughter.
