Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

After his beloved Time Twister started to turn in on itself, Doctor Nefarious Tropy attempted to escape. However, he was instead pulled into the past and put into the body of a caveborn guardian egg around the dragcave. Charu, stalking the cave noticed this caveborn egg had something different about it, it seemed to be aged differently from the other eggs. There was grass around the egg, and just getting near the egg made Charu feel younger. She took the egg back to her cave to examine it. After it hatched, she noticed the little guardian hatchling drawing diagrams in the sand. Apparently the hatchling KNEW English, which was unusual. After several days the hatchling found out that it was impossible to get back into his old body and explained everything to Charu, who gave him his old name out of respect. He now lives out his days sitting in the cave, telling the other dragons of his tales of nefarious proportions.
