Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems shy, but loves attention.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Habibeh loves her fellow hatchlings and does everything she can to make them happy.  She will share the food the adults bring for her, curl up with them at night to keep them warm, and play whatever games they like best.  But she is easy to upset, and when they get too rough, she'll cry for the adults.  Because she's so sweet, they immediately scold the other hatchlings, even when she's fine.  Some of the hatchlings won't play with her because of that, but she gets along fine with the more gentle ones, like the Whites and Mints.
