Terrae Dragons are primarily herbivores who prefer to eat from the tops of trees. However, due to their massive size, they must rely on small, specialized scales to absorb and convert energy from the sun. Since they live in tightly-knit groups, this form of energy absorption helps preserve the forests in which these dragons reside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Each morning when the dawn breeze blows and rattles the tops of the trees, he waits for Pan to fly across the clearing he drowses in and part the branches above him so the sun might shine in. He has to bask for a time, eating part of his breakfast and gaining the energy to rise through the holes in the canopy. He claims the rest of his breakfast in swift mouthfuls and is often joined for lunch or supper by the gleaming white beauty. They share peaceful discourse and he preens that she admires the way that, if he lay still long enough, he'd need nothing but the light of the sun to feed himself. It's a joke between them. After all, if he were able to do that he'd be far more aggressive and less pleasant company.
