Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Red is a member of the Jingle Lads, a group of dragons who provide naughty sacrifices to a beast that threatens their home village. For years, they have served as protectors of their home, though they themselves have never outwardly proclaimed this, and for good reason. Among them, Red has a unique and important job: actually wrapping up their victims. Red considers himself an artist and a professional when it comes to making things look nice and festive. Though even he can agree to the ethical issues their group faces, he still tries to make the most of their situation and has a bit of fun with his job. He weaves together some admittedly gorgeous wrappings, complete with bows, ribbons, and other festive decor, although he is also very aware of practicality and makes sure these displays are as efficient at holding sacrifices still as they are beautiful. For this reason, he is often considered the most twisted of the bunch, although he tries not to let such stinging views get to him.
