Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Her name means "She will bring fear" and Ataleta does just that. As an egg she was stolen by MwakoNgozi, an evil Ember dragon. Ataleta was trained, when she was old enough, to hone her magic skills and fighting prowess. Living in the scorching wasteland has, for the most part, hardened her emotions. The Ember dragon had made it clear time and time again that if she were to go off and find a mate that she and her lover would be ruthlessly slaughtered. When entering into combat Ataleta is the first on the battlefield and the last to leave it. She preforms a dazzling array of aerial attacks which are as deadly as they are stunning. Ataleta is the best that she can be, all to make her "mother" proud.
