Named after their cloudy, ashen scales, Ash Dragons are large, gentle beasts, although their faces can give unaccustomed folk a fright. Their tough scales and sheer size make them infrequent attack targets, traits that explain why pygmy dragons and other small dragon breeds can often be seen riding on their backs, hiding amongst their large spiked scales. Though they tend to be mostly quiet, Ash dragons have a low, deep roar that is typically only used to threaten or call to others of their kind.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cymbeline is a little harsher than other Ash Dragons. He has a shorter temper and tends to get irritated more easily than others of his kind, hence he is usually on his own. Cymbeline can and will attack if agitated enough, but this is very rare. He doesn't prefer physical confrontation or resorting to violence, seeing it all as messy and a waste of time. Despite that notion, he's actually pretty lazy and an infamous procrastinator, usually putting off hunting and nest maintenance for long, daytime naps. Cymbeline loves his naps. Most days, he'll just find a nice soft patch of grass and sleep for hours on end. No one dares to wake him, for those are the instances where he will unleash his full strength. Cymbeline is a strong fighter, with more muscle mass than other Ash Dragons, though, again, he doesn't prefer to use that strength for anything. He's probably the only Ash Dragon that Pygmies don't swarm or even come anywhere near, and he likes it that way.
