Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As her name suggests, Rosekiss is enamored with the soft-petaled red blossoms, and can often be seen licking at the scarlet flowers, eyes closed as if she savors the taste. She is known to frequent the rose gardens surrounding a certain renowned monastery, and can often be seen soaring over the friendly little town that surrounds it. The villagers respect her deeply, and often leave out offerings of flowers and chocolate in return for her blessings. Due to her machinations, the bonds of love that form in that town are as powerful as they are beautiful; but Rosekiss has an even greater plan in mind. In that monastery there is a monk, perhaps the purest and kindest of the lot, and he has long secretly felt affection for one of the town's nuns, a young girl as pretty as she is gentle-who secretly feels for him, as well. Rosekiss is determined to see these two shy young ones united, and will resort to heart-tipped arrows, cherubs, and causing embarrassing situations to get them together!
