Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a great appetite but still prefers to hunt on its own. It is quite large already.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tiny compared to an adult of her breed, this "little" hatchling is the size of a moderate house. Her favored food was bear, but as she migrated more toward water, she developed a taste for walruses instead.

After eating, Nozkunkz collects the tusks from her kills and carves pictures in them. She manages surprisingly fine detail. Most of her carvings involve dragons, but she has done other scenes on request. However, she refuses any requests to carve skunks. She hates them due to several unfortunate encounters when she was newly hatched. To her, the best kind of skunk is a deeply buried one.
